4-H Public Presentations 2021

  • Thursday, December 17, 2020, 12:00 PM - Friday, January 22@ 12:00 AM

Public presentations will be VIRTUAL this year. The Public Presentation Committee and 4-H staff believe these virtual presentations will give you extra tools for your future and provide you with skills you can use the rest of your life. The goal for this year is to learn how to do an effective presentation online. This is a temporary change as we navigate the challenges of Covid-19.

There will be two options this year for 4-H members who are participating in Public Presentations.

  • 1.Participate in a live zoom presentation with evaluators and live evaluator comments; a paper copy of your evaluation will be mailed.
  • 2.Submit a video of your presentation and evaluators will view and provide feedback; a paper copy of your evaluation will be mailed.

Each option will provide those participating with new skills. For those interested in a live zoom presentation you will learn how to think on your feet and navigate potential challenges using a virtual platform. If you choose to submit a video you will have the ability to learn how to use video editing software and create something that could be used to enhance your marketing strategy for your market animal. Both options will give you, the 4-H member, the opportunity to learn a new skill by doing.

Live Zoom event will be structured as follows:

  • Presentation “rooms” will be set up in advance using the platform Zoom.
  • Each “room” will have 3-4 presenters, 1 host and 1-2 evaluators.
  • Evaluation/Feedback will follow the presentation, paper evaluation forms will be mailed with evaluator comments and a score following your presentation (please allow 2-3 weeks for mailed comments).
  • 3 session options will be offered:
  • -Tuesday, February 23- 6-8pm
  • -Saturday, February 27 – 10am-3pm
  • -Wednesday, March 3 – 6-8pm
